Who we are

What we collect

When you request access we collect your email address and whether you ticked the box to receive updates. We don’t collect anything else through the sign-up form.

Why we collect it, and the legal basis

We use your email address to give you access to the tool and to understand who uses it (legitimate interests). We send you updates only if you ticked the box (consent). You can withdraw consent at any time by replying to any update or emailing us.

Your answers in the tool

Anything you type into the planning questions is saved only in your own browser. It is not sent to us or stored on our servers. Clearing your browser data, or the Clear answers button, removes it.

Cookies and storage on your device

This site doesn’t use advertising or tracking cookies, and it doesn’t use analytics that store anything on your device. It uses your browser’s local storage for two things only, both of which you ask for: remembering that you have signed up, so the tool stays open for you, and saving the answers you type into the planning questions, so they are still there when you return. This information stays in your browser and is never sent to us. You can remove it at any time by clearing your browser data, or by using the Clear answers button on each page.

Where it is stored

Sign-ups are stored by our hosting provider, Netlify, Inc., which may process data in the United States under appropriate safeguards. We keep your details for as long as you use the tool, or until you ask us to delete them.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, or object to how we use it. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
